The 5 checkpoints
Get your print file checked in detail and for free (estimated value $50 or more).
Check 5 is a preflight process that identifies issues in five major areas that are essential to meeting the delivery deadline.
This verification includes 5 key points:
File format
We verify that :
The production file is in PDF format at 100% of the desired size and is not password protected.
The production file has bleeds and the safety margins between cut lines and print areas are within standards.
The PDF production file has been prepared page by page and not in double pages.
If the pages are in a single PDF document, they must be well prepared in the desired reading order.
If the pages are in several PDF documents, each document must be named with pagination so that we can correctly determine the desired order of the pages.
Fonts
We verify that:
All the texts are well vectorized,
If some are not vectorized, that the fonts are well integrated into the PDF file.
Please note: we do not check the grammar or spelling of the documents.
Resolution
We verify that:
All images and photos must be at least 300 dpi in the document at 100% of its final size.
Fine lines in single color should be at least 800 dpi in the document at 100% final size.
Color coding
We verify that:
All elements of the file are prepared in CMYK, or black gradient or in a single color.
All elements encoded other than above are converted to CMYK.
Paging
We verify that:
All pages are oriented in the same direction (portrait or landscape) and in the correct order.
All pages are the same size.
In the case of a paginated document, that the pagination is present on each page.
The number of pages corresponds to the number of pages of the brochure ordered. For example, for a 32-page brochure, we check that we have 4 cover pages and 28 inside pages.
